Upstream Process Operations Specialist (m/w/d)

About the role

Nemensis AG, a recruitment partner in the Life Sciences sector based in Basel, is recruiting on behalf of an established biopharmaceutical manufacturer near Lucerne. The company is expanding its GMP manufacturing of early-phase therapies using continuous and fed-batch processes. This is a temporary placement from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2027, based in the Greater Lucerne area (Schachen).

Key responsibilities

• Set up, run and troubleshoot upstream unit operations under GMP.
• Draft and revise SOPs and electronic master batch records, and review related documentation.
• Manage materials via SAP and ensure compliance with GMP and EHS standards.
• Support continuous improvement and new technologies, including non-GMP engineering runs.
• Take part in sampling activities and on-call duties according to schedule (no regular shift work).

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline.
• Around 0-2 years of experience in pharma or biotech.
• Analytical, solution-oriented mindset and willingness to learn.
• Fluent German (C1) and solid English (B2+).
• Residence near Schachen (LU) or willingness to relocate, with a driver's licence (B) and own car.
• Ideally prior bioreactor experience and familiarity with DeltaV and PAS-X.
