US Tax and Reporting Specialist (80-100% FTE)

About the role

LGT is seeking a US Tax and Reporting Specialist to ensure accurate and timely fulfilment of all US tax reporting obligations linked to its Qualified Intermediary (QI) Agreement. You will work closely with the QI Responsible Officer and support the broader team in navigating complex US tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate US tax forms such as W‑8BEN, W‑9, and 1042‑S.
• Ensure compliance with FATCA and QI reporting requirements.
• Analyse complex US tax issues and provide guidance to internal departments.
• Collaborate with external advisers and auditors on tax matters.
• Monitor legislative changes in US tax law and assess impact on LGT processes.
• Support automation and optimisation of regulatory reporting (e.g., Modelo 196, QI, CPC).
• Handle client enquiries on US tax topics and maintain internal databases.
• Leverage AI tools to improve and streamline reporting workflows.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Law or a related field with a focus on taxation.
• Several years of professional experience in US tax law and reporting, preferably within financial services.
• Strong analytical abilities, high attention to detail, and a proactive work style.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.
• Independent, structured, and team‑oriented mindset with a high sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• FATCA compliance expertise.
• Qualified Intermediary (QI) regulations.
• Experience with US tax reporting software.
• Avaloq knowledge (advantage).
• Proficiency with AI tools for process improvement.
