Windows Server Engineer

About the role

The Windows Server Engineer designs, implements, secures and maintains Microsoft‑based server platforms. The role ensures reliable infrastructure operations through automation, identity integration and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Manage operating system patching, upgrades, hardening and lifecycle activities.
• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and related identity services.
• Implement configuration baselines and security controls.
• Support virtualised and cloud‑hosted Windows workloads.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate provisioning and administration.
• Monitor system performance, availability, capacity and security events.
• Participate in incident, problem, change and major incident management.
• Support backup, recovery, resilience and disaster‑recovery requirements.
• Investigate complex technical issues and perform root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Strong experience administering enterprise Windows Server environments (6‑10 years typical).
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, SCCM and authentication services.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Understanding of server security, vulnerability management and configuration hardening.
• Experience with virtualization, cloud platforms and backup technologies.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
