6-Month AI / Backend Developer Internship

About the role

We are looking for a motivated AI / Backend Developer intern to join our fast‑growing geospatial intelligence startup. You will work closely with the CTO and engineering team, contributing to a live customer project while also helping improve our internal platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise backend services and AI‑powered workflows using Python.
• Integrate modern AI tools, APIs, data pipelines and geospatial intelligence systems.
• Spend roughly three days per week on an active customer project and two days on internal product development.
• Collaborate on architecture, implementation and technical decisions with the engineering team.
• Work with databases, data catalogues, APIs and data‑integration pipelines.

Required profile

• Strong Python programming skills and ability to write clean, modular code.
• Familiarity with Git, APIs and databases.
• Interest in modern AI systems such as LLMs, agents or automation.
• Proven ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
• Quality‑oriented mindset focused on testing, reliability and maintainability.
• Excellent communication in English and a proactive, eager‑to‑learn attitude.
