Academic Associate – Mechanochemical Process Development

About the role

The Academic Associate will lead the synthetic and process‑development core of a joint mechanochemistry project, bridging laboratory discovery with industrial application.

Key responsibilities

• Design, run and interpret transformations in mechanochemical bead reactors from lab to pilot scale.
• Benchmark representative mechanochemical reactions and industrially relevant targets.
• Conduct design‑of‑experiments campaigns on Dyno®‑mill technology.
• Characterize products, map process parameters to critical quality attributes, and contribute to predictive modelling.
• Scale‑up processes to pilot plant with industrial partners, verify robustness and reproducibility, and consolidate results into standardized workflow guidelines.

Required profile

• Master's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with experience in organic synthesis.
• Strong interest in interdisciplinary research covering synthesis, process development, characterization, and chemical engineering.
• Ability to work autonomously, rigorously document data, and solve problems creatively.
• Excellent English communication skills; basic French or German is a plus.
