Accountant Specialist – General Accounting & Bookkeeping

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant Specialist to support our finance team in day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks. The role involves managing the full accounts-receivable cycle, coordinating with external partners, and ensuring compliance with Swiss accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support general accounting and bookkeeping activities.
• Manage the accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, customer accounts and VAT handling.
• Coordinate with external providers for accounts payable and treasury operations.
• Assist with VAT settlements, VAT returns and related tax documentation.
• Support audit preparation and act as liaison with auditors.
• Prepare financial data for year-end closing, working with external Swiss accountants.
• Work daily with the ERP system to maintain accurate financial records.
• Issue customer invoices and handle trade/export documentation such as EUR1 forms.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to insurance matters.

Required profile

• Degree in economics or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, well-organized and proactive.
• Ability to work independently and with external advisors.
• Fluent in English and German.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Swiss accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Familiarity with modern administrative practices, fiscal and budgetary procedures, purchasing and office management.
