Accounting and External Reporting Expert

About the role

Roche is seeking a senior finance professional to lead IFRS accounting and external reporting activities from its Corporate Head Office in Basel. The role involves preparing consolidated financial statements and providing technical accounting guidance across complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end and half‑year IFRS consolidated financial statements.
• Lead technical accounting operations for monthly closing and external reporting events.
• Translate IFRS and other reporting standards into detailed operational specifications and update the Group accounting manual.
• Support cross‑functional projects such as M&A, alliances, financing, divestments and system implementations.
• Facilitate internal financial training and ensure an effective internal control system.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with a finance/accounting degree or professional qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of IFRS external reporting experience in a large global organization.
• Proven expertise in complex IFRS topics, especially M&A, alliances, revenue recognition and divestments.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate technical matters to non‑accounting colleagues.
• Fluent spoken and written business English; Swiss accounting knowledge and German language are a plus.
