AI Backend Engineer – AI Workflow Systems

About the role

We are seeking an AI Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate the backend systems that power AI‑driven insurance workflows. You will work remotely as part of a global engineering team, bridging models, APIs, and real‑world user interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services that serve AI‑powered insurance workflows in production.
• Design AI orchestration layers that connect models, APIs, business logic, and workflows.
• Develop inference pipelines for LLM‑based automation and optimize latency, throughput, and cost.
• Implement observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and incident‑response processes.
• Debug distributed AI systems, resolve root‑cause issues, and continuously improve reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, operations, and ML teams to ship end‑to‑end features.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience in production environments.
• Experience building high‑throughput, low‑latency services.
• Familiarity with AI systems such as LLMs, embeddings, or AI workflows.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and production debugging.
• Understanding of APIs, data flows, and system design principles.
• Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing).
• Ownership mindset and bias toward shipping.
• Comfortable working in fast‑paced, globally distributed teams.
