AI Engineering Consultant

About the role

D ONE is seeking an AI Engineering Consultant to advise clients on designing and implementing production‑grade AI solutions, including generative AI, AI agents, and machine‑learning use cases embedded in business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements to identify high‑value AI use cases.
• Design and implement AI solutions such as RAG systems, AI agents, and LLM‑powered applications.
• Set up evaluation, monitoring and guardrails to ensure AI solutions are measurable, reliable and safe.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing data platforms, applications and business processes.
• Contribute to cloud architecture, data engineering, data science and AI governance initiatives.
• Communicate recommendations and results to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; MSc or PhD strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, ML engineering or data science with at least one AI/ML solution in production.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem‑solving skills and ability to explain complex topics to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Excellent written and spoken English; German strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Python programming and software‑engineering fundamentals (APIs, testing, CI/CD, version control).
• SQL.
• Experience with Databricks (Mosaic AI, MLflow, AI Vector Search) and/or Azure AI services (Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI) or comparable platforms (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI).
• Hands‑on experience building LLM‑based applications (RAG, agents, prompt engineering) and using orchestration libraries such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Familiarity with vector stores (pgvector, Qdrant, Chroma, FAISS).
• Knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps practices and responsible AI principles.
