Asset Technology Engineer

About the role

Saipem is seeking an Asset Technology Engineer to join the crew of one of its vessels. The role provides specialised technical support for the development, improvement and maintenance of Saipem's fleet and related equipment, ensuring high performance and compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal functions to identify technical needs for vessels, land rigs, equipment upgrades or new builds.
• Develop feasibility studies and conceptual designs that meet client requirements and define execution plans.
• Implement ordinary and extraordinary maintenance programmes, coordinate subcontractors and ensure quality aligns with international standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date certification data for machines and equipment, ensuring traceability of all tasks performed.
• Support procurement by identifying required materials/services and monitoring the purchasing process.
• Provide technical assistance during tendering activities and oversee installation and commissioning in accordance with class rules (e.g., DNV, ABS).
• Notify spare‑part requirements based on programmed activities and plan long‑term preservation of assets.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in marine or offshore asset maintenance.
• Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors.
• Familiarity with international classification societies and certification processes.
• Analytical mindset for feasibility studies and conceptual design work.

Required skills

• Knowledge of DNV standards
• Knowledge of ABS standards
