Assistant Maître d'Hôtel – Banquets

About the role

Join the Banquets team at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva as an Assistant Maître d'Hôtel. You will support the Banquet Operations Manager on the floor, ensuring flawless service for high‑end events in a 5‑star environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that banquet setups match event specifications and oversee service throughout the function.
• Greet guests, manage coat check, and serve according to luxury hospitality standards.
• Recruit and supervise temporary staff for each event, ensuring proper coverage.
• Check menus for accuracy (spelling, descriptions, dates, wines) and be familiar with all products served.
• Handle guest complaints following the LQE procedure and relay feedback to management.

Required profile

• Passion for service and strong attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a luxury hotel or fine‑dining environment is preferred.
• Team spirit, curiosity, and a desire to learn and grow.
• Fluent in English and French; additional European language a plus.
• Valid Swiss work permit or EU passport.
