Associate Capacity Building

About the role

This traineeship focuses on the capacity‑building function of the Security and Crisis Management Support Division, supporting the design and delivery of security and crisis‑management courses for ICRC staff.

Key responsibilities

• Support continuation and timely resumption of face‑to‑face capacity‑building initiatives.
• Assist in preparing and delivering courses, including updating materials, participant selection, invitations and archiving.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of Crisis Management Simulations and workshops.
• Help develop didactic tools such as videos, immersive resources and safety‑risk‑management videos.
• Monitor and evaluate activities, collect feedback and integrate lessons learned.
• Maintain knowledge repositories and collaborate with internal and external partners.

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Up to two years of relevant experience, including internships or volunteer work.
• Understanding of the ICRC mandate and the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
• Interest in security, risk or crisis management.
• Experience organising or facilitating workshops, conferences or training courses.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French; additional languages (Arabic, Russian, Spanish) are an asset.
• Strong analytical, organisational, creative and adaptable abilities.
