Associate Data Engineer – Azure & Fabric

About the role

Jet Aviation is looking for an Associate Data Engineer in Basel to turn complex data into meaningful insights. Working with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric, you will contribute to data engineering, analytics, machine learning and enterprise ontology initiatives. The position is onsite and open to graduates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize data pipelines and data products with Azure, Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse and OneLake.
• Integrate, transform and validate data from multiple sources for reporting, analytics, machine learning and AI applications.
• Support the design of scalable data models and reusable analytical datasets.
• Improve data quality, documentation, metadata and governance so data is reliable, secure and AI-ready.
• Contribute to machine learning solutions, including data preparation, feature engineering, testing and model evaluation.
• Help build enterprise ontologies by mapping business concepts, relationships and data sources.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to turn requirements into practical data solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize pipelines, notebooks and analytical workloads, and help implement responsible data and AI solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, IT, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• Initial experience through internships, academic projects or professional roles in data engineering, analytics, data science or software development.
• Fluent written and spoken English; flexibility to work with global teams across time zones.

Required skills

• Foundational knowledge of data integration, ETL/ELT, data modeling, data quality and cloud platforms.
• Practical SQL and familiarity with Python or another programming language.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and/or Fabric; experience with Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse, OneLake, Azure Storage or Synapse Analytics is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of machine learning, relational databases and structured or semi-structured data.
