Associate Director, Technology Transfer

About the role

Lonza is seeking an Associate Director, Technology Transfer (Global MSAT) to lead the transfer of complex drug products from development through commercial launch. The position is site‑based in Stein, Switzerland and supports close, real‑time collaboration across global sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end technology transfers, including process scale‑up, PPQ, regulatory filing, inspection readiness and first commercial launch.
• Act as the global Subject Matter Expert for process technology transfer, shaping technical strategy and ensuring alignment across sites.
• Provide technical authority and senior escalation support for late‑phase and commercial programs.
• Lead process setup, scale‑up and on‑site technical support during batch execution at GMP manufacturing sites.
• Drive GMP change management, handle deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in biotech/pharma or CDMO environments, especially with aseptic fill‑finish processes such as lyophilization and prefilled syringes.
• Deep knowledge of GMP, regulatory and CMC requirements and ability to translate strategy into robust manufacturing execution.
• Proven ability to influence complex manufacturing strategies across global, cross‑site operations.
• University degree in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or related field (PhD preferred); fluent English (German a plus).
