Associate Oligonucleotides Analytics

About the role

ELAN Personal AG, acting for its long-term client F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel, is recruiting an Associate Oligonucleotides Analytics for the Analytical Research and Development function of Synthetic Molecules Technical Development. The role develops resource- and cost-efficient analytical methods using modern techniques such as HPLC, gas or ion chromatography and mass spectrometry, with the aim of building a robust control strategy to release products for clinical trials and commercial supply.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine measurements for oligonucleotides, mainly HPLC with UV and/or single quad MS detection
• Plan, execute and document experiments collaboratively in a team of five associates
• Control analytical instruments with chromatographic data systems such as Empower or OpenLab
• Evaluate data with Genedata or Oligo Analysis Accelerator
• Develop, improve and validate analytical methods for the quality assessment of oligonucleotides
• Ensure compliance with GxP guidelines and relevant SOPs

Required profile

• Vocational scientific qualification as chemical laboratory technician (e.g. apprenticeship) with at least 2-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry; no university degree, master or PhD required
• Self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented and a strong team player
• Quality mindset, attention to detail and knowledge of GxP requirements across clinical phases
• Good command of English; German is beneficial

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and techniques (e.g. HPLC, MS)
• Interest or background in analytical development for oligonucleotides
• Knowledge of LC-MS applications and instruments is a plus
• Experience with large molecules/biologics analytics is an advantage
