Associate Programme Officer, DCP/OA (FT-LTD)

About the role

The International Trade Centre is seeking an Associate Programme Officer to support the Africa Trade Competitiveness and Market Access (ATCMA) programme. The role involves research, coordination, and monitoring of trade‑related projects across the SADC and ECOWAS regions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct basic research, collect and analyse statistical data, and prepare background papers and analytical notes.
• Support policy coordination, evaluation functions and consulting assignments, including workshop planning and action‑plan development.
• Assist in organising meetings, conferences and field missions, handling logistics, agenda setting and preparation of background documents.
• Coordinate budget‑related activities such as programme preparation, progress reporting and financial statement preparation.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management.
• Knowledge of ECOWAS and SADC institutional processes and value‑chain selection.
• Ability to analyse issues, develop data‑collection sources and work independently under tight deadlines.
• Fluency in English and French at UN Level III (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
