Associate Specialist – Lipids Research

About the role

As an Associate Specialist Lipids at Nestlé Research, you will strengthen scientific expertise and generate new insights in lipid physics and chemistry for food applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary research teams, product development groups, universities and external partners to turn ideas into sustainable solutions for people, pets and the planet.

Key responsibilities

• Build scientific knowledge of emerging methods, trends and discoveries in lipid science and technology.
• Develop robust concepts that translate lipid research into food applications and consumer benefits.
• Lead research projects and communicate approaches and results to technical and business audiences.
• Design and execute laboratory studies on lipid crystallisation, structuring and oxidation.
• Transfer scientific knowledge to development teams to accelerate innovation and product launches.
• Enhance scientific visibility through intellectual property, publications, conference presentations and coaching of students and technicians.

Required profile

• PhD in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Engineering or a related field with strong knowledge of lipid science.
• Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to turn science into consumer and business value.
• Project management, organisational and communication abilities to deliver clear scientific outcomes.
• Proactive collaboration across disciplines, initiative, integrity and passion for knowledge sharing.
• Fluent English communication; additional languages are a plus.
