Automation Engineer MES/DeltaV

About the role

As an Automation Engineer MES/DeltaV you will design, implement and support Manufacturing Execution Systems and Emerson DeltaV process control systems for biopharmaceutical production at our Visp site.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and validate MES recipes and DeltaV control strategies to ensure robust, compliant manufacturing.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Process Development, Automation, Engineering and Quality teams for seamless system integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve MES and DeltaV issues to minimise production disruptions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, specifications, work instructions and validation records in line with GMP.
• Provide end‑user training, technical guidance and ongoing system expertise.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes, automation strategies and system performance.

Required profile

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations, computerized system validation and qualification activities.
• Ability to analyse complex technical issues, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) – e.g., Werum PAS‑X, Rockwell PharmaSuite or comparable platforms.
• Emerson DeltaV or other distributed control systems used in process manufacturing.
• Understanding of GMP, validation and qualification processes.
