Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operator (Safety Driver)

About the role

We are seeking Autonomous Vehicle Safety Operators (Safety Drivers) to support testing, validation, and commercial deployment of autonomous vehicle and robotaxi fleets across Europe. You will ensure safe operation of self‑driving cars during pilot programs and ride‑hailing services, working closely with engineering, fleet operations, and depot teams.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor autonomous vehicles safely during testing and commercial runs.
• Maintain full situational awareness and take manual control when required by safety protocols.
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of cameras, sensors, lighting, and overall vehicle condition.
• Record disengagements, observations, and operational events using company tools.
• Provide structured feedback on vehicle behaviour and unusual traffic scenarios.
• Report damage, abnormal behaviour, or maintenance issues to depot and technical teams.
• Follow all operational procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Experienced, responsible drivers with excellent situational awareness.
• Willingness to undergo comprehensive training on autonomous driving systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.
• Readiness to work onsite at depots and on public roads across multiple European cities.
