BIM Manager

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is looking for a BIM Manager to lead BIM and digital construction across complex engineering projects in Zurich. The role is responsible for BIM implementation, model‑based delivery and information management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and ensure compliance with ISO 19650, Mercury standards and the Employer’s Information Requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination, clash detection and 4D BIM sequencing in close collaboration with planning and construction teams.
• Drive innovation through off‑site manufacturing, Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), automation and AI‑enabled workflows.
• Manage the Common Data Environment, drawing registers and information delivery plans (MIDP, TIDP, MPDP).
• Support site teams with model interpretation, digital setting‑out, surveying and reality capture.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a senior BIM or BIM Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of BIM delivery, digital construction, off‑site manufacturing and ISO 19650.
• Proven leadership, coordination and problem‑solving abilities, with experience managing BIM teams and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Advanced BIM software proficiency (e.g., Revit, Navisworks or equivalent).
• ISO 19650 standards and BIM Execution Planning.
• COBie data management and asset information handover.
• 4D BIM scheduling and clash detection.
• Digital fabrication, automation and AI‑assisted BIM tools.
• Surveying, laser scanning, reality capture and digital setting‑out technologies.
