Biomedical Analyst Technician – Full Time

About the role

The University Hospitals of Geneva are seeking a full‑time Biomedical Analyst Technician to join the Diagnostic Department’s laboratory service. You will work with liquid specimens (blood, urine, CSF, wound swabs) and perform a wide range of analyses using state‑of‑the‑art automated and manual techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine bacteriological analyses, focusing on automated bacteriology platforms.
• Participate in all laboratory tasks, including on‑call and standby duties with irregular hours.
• Contribute to technological upgrades and the implementation of new equipment.
• Train laboratory staff and interns, ensuring knowledge transfer.
• Support the maintenance of the laboratory’s accreditation system.

Required profile

• Diploma in Biomedical Analysis (TAB) or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of microbiology, especially automated microbiology, and deep understanding of molecular biology (real‑time PCR) and parasitology.
• Hands‑on laboratory experience with culture handling and molecular techniques.
• High level of rigor, responsibility, autonomy and availability for medical staff when needed.
• Good interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
