Business Development Director

About the role

Marken, UPS Healthcare Precision Logistics (formerly Marken, MNX & Polar Speed), the clinical and advanced therapy subsidiary of UPS Healthcare, is looking for a Business Development Director. The role is a senior sales position aimed at improving the organisation's market position and achieving financial growth: defining long-term strategic goals, building key customer relationships, identifying opportunities, negotiating and closing deals, and managing existing clients while growing the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect for new clients through networking, cold calling and advertising, and build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
• Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within their organisations, research them and set up meetings with company practice leaders.
• Plan approaches and pitches, work with the team to develop proposals, handle objections and negotiate, and price solutions and services.
• Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new products and services and enhancing relationships.
• Manage the business development pipeline and strategy, including industry events, competitor analysis and unique selling propositions.
• Present to mid and senior management on business trends and new services, products and distribution channels.
• Ensure accurate data entry in Salesforce, track account activity and help close deals to meet targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 5-7 years of sales or marketing experience.
• Ability to work with mid and senior management, marketing and technical staff, and to manage the activities of others responsible for business development.
