Buyer – Supply Planning

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Buyer to join our supply planning team in Ballaigues. Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and components needed for production while optimizing inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze supply planning data to validate purchasing requirements and create purchase forecasts.
• Process purchase orders and ensure they are confirmed by suppliers, maintaining up‑to‑date delivery dates in the system.
• Define and regularly review safety stock levels, adjusting as needed in the ERP.
• Maintain inventory within defined objectives and adhere to supply lead times.
• Implement blanket orders while managing obsolescence risk and verifying product continuation plans.
• Set up and review material planning parameters in the ERP (MOQ, multiples, lead‑time, purchasing notes).
• Coordinate with Finance to close invoicing gaps and ensure all delivered POs are invoiced.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships, conduct periodic business and KPI reviews, and collaborate on issue resolution, price negotiations, and contract management.
• Work closely with Procurement, Supplier Quality, Marketing, Logistics, R&D, Finance, S&OP, and Operations on new product introductions and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement or supply planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to analyze data, manage purchase orders, and monitor inventory levels.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on meeting production schedules.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for material planning and order management.
