C++ Software Engineer – Linux Control Systems

About the role

You will develop, evolve, and maintain C++ control software for power‑converter systems operating in Linux environments. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will own and modernise a set of software classes, migrating them from legacy FGCDv1/FESA architectures to the next‑generation FGCDv2 framework.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, document and maintain modern C++ control applications for accelerator power converters.
• Take full ownership of software components throughout their lifecycle, including migration to FGCDv2.
• Contribute to the evolution and improvement of the FGCDv2 framework based on practical experience.
• Support software architecture, code quality, and CI/CD practices to ensure reliable and scalable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, equipment specialists and operations teams.
• Supervise a small team of developers as needed.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in modern C++ and Linux‑based development.
• Experience with medium‑to‑large software systems and quality practices (testing, code review, CI).
• Ability to take ownership of deliverables and communicate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest or experience in hardware‑software integration, industrial or control systems is a plus.
• Fluent spoken and written English; willingness to learn French.
