Cargo Supervisor

About the role

The Cargo Supervisor leads the safe and efficient operation of cargo and cargo utility systems on offshore vessels. Reporting to the Cargo Superintendent, the role ensures that loading, off‑loading and maintenance activities are performed in line with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, start, monitor and shut down marine and cargo operations.
• Supervise Cargo Operators, foremen and crane drivers, delegating tasks based on competence.
• Coordinate with on‑shore and offshore departments to ensure seamless cargo handling.
• Promote training, competency assurance and safety awareness across the cargo team.
• Manage permit‑to‑work, risk assessments, inspections and audit action items.
• Contribute to tank entry, inspection and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and supervisory experience in marine cargo environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for liaison with the Cargo Superintendent, OIM and other stakeholders.
• Ability to delegate authority responsibly and verify task completion.
