Chief of UN Efficiency Unit

About the role

The Chief of the United Nations Efficiency Unit will provide strategic leadership and technical guidance to improve efficiency, effectiveness and value for money across IOM operations worldwide. Reporting to senior management, the role coordinates cross‑cutting initiatives and collaborates with UN partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the identification and promotion of cross‑agency efficiencies, including mutual recognition, pricing and costing principles.
• Provide managerial support to Global Shared Services and IOM offices to ensure consistent application of efficiency standards.
• Oversee policy and guideline development related to resource management and UN reform agendas.

Required profile

• Significant experience in general and resource management, preferably in a diplomatic or UN environment.
• Proven ability to liaise with UN partners and draft policy or guidelines.
• Experience with Operations Management Teams and budget/operations support is highly desirable.
