Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)

About the role

KUORI is a Swiss deep-tech materials startup developing biobased and recyclable thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) from upcycled food industry by-products such as olive pits and walnut shells. Its BIOWA platform replaces fossil-based TPU, EVA and rubber. The company is entering commercial scale-up and needs a dedicated commercial leader in Zurich to turn market momentum into first anchor accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Own the top 15-20 qualified accounts directly
• Proactively reach out to customers in compounding, distribution and OEM procurement (footwear, industrials)
• Set targets, forecast revenue and hold variable compensation tied to performance
• Turn field intelligence into customer signals fed back into the R&D roadmap
• Build channels through commission-based representatives and distribution partners
• Represent the company at trade fairs and customer events across Europe

Required profile

• A "hunter" mentality, energised by customer contact
• An active network in specialty materials, polymer compounding and footwear/automotive/consumer OEMs
• Track record of opening five- or six-figure B2B accounts in materials or chemicals
• Technical credibility with R&D, procurement and sustainability leads
• Comfort with ambiguity and no full support apparatus
• Nice to have: equity-upside mindset, additional European languages, experience representing a brand at trade fairs, prior exposure to specialty distributor networks
