Classroom Assistant (Early Years – Grade 1)

About the role

The Primary School Early Years – Grade 1 Assistant Teacher supports the classroom teacher in delivering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Starting 1 August 2024, this full‑time position works on‑site and participates in after‑school activities and staff meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure student safety and well‑being throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all children.
• Support transitions, specialist subjects, outdoor learning, and lunchtimes.
• Document and personalise learning experiences using classroom technology.
• Model positive learning behaviours and uphold ethical standards.
• Contribute to after‑school programmes, sports, or coaching as needed.

Required profile

• High level of self‑management and flexibility.
• Proactive disposition with a strong responsiveness to children.
• Experience working with young children and knowledge of child development.
• Fluent German is desired.
• Swiss, EU, or EFTA passport holders (or Swiss permit holders).
