Client Liaison – Fine Art Department (Geneva)

About the role

The Client Liaison supports the Fine Art Department in Geneva by managing pre‑ and post‑sale activities, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring a seamless experience for collectors and consignors. The role blends client service, administrative support, and sales coordination within Sotheby’s global auction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organise pipeline management meetings with the GFA team to review sourcing initiatives.
• Handle client requests related to consignments, bid registration, loan requests, valuations and transactional history.
• Coordinate and execute pre‑sale targeting strategies for global auctions.
• Track pre‑sale target lists, consignment pipelines and buyer results in collaboration with specialists.
• Monitor the consignment process before and after sales to maximise sell‑through rates.
• Liaise with Shipping, Client Accounts, Events, and other specialist departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist specialists during client visits, valuations and proposal preparation.
• Maintain accurate client mailing lists and support large‑volume email communications.
• Provide day‑to‑day administrative support for the Geneva office, including query handling and problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of domestic and international auction processes, including private sales.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with high‑net‑worth clients.
• Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple client‑related tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive problem‑solver who can follow tasks through to completion.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams across Europe and globally.
