Clinical Scientist / Medical Monitor - Neuroscience

About the role

Roche's Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) organisation, which develops medicines for neuroscience and rare diseases, is looking for an experienced clinical scientist to join its Neuroscience & Rare Diseases team in Basel. The role shapes global Phase 0-2 studies and works closely with Clinical Operations and Medical Directors to plan, execute and oversee clinical studies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and write critical study documentation, including protocols and study reports, and guide operational and regulatory strategies
• Drive clinical data review plans and oversee study conduct, ensuring data quality from collection through analysis and decision-making
• Perform medical and safety data review and interact with study sites
• Represent clinical science in study management, training and supporting operations teams and study sites
• Partner with Data Management to design clinical forms and instructions, and review clinical and safety data
• Collaborate with academics, contribute to publications and represent the research at global conferences

Required profile

• PhD in Neuroscience, with over 8 years of experience in drug development and 5 years in early clinical programmes across different neurological indications (e.g. Alzheimer's disease, neurodevelopmental disorders, multiple sclerosis)
• MD degree and experience as medical monitor in phase 1-2 clinical trials (a major plus)
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a track record in clinical data review, analysis and reporting
• Solid understanding of clinical development processes, study design and international clinical research and safety guidelines
• Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills, and willingness to travel occasionally
