Communications and Social Media Manager

About the role

DuckDuckGo, a remote-first team of 400+ people, is looking for a Communications and Social Media Manager within its Marketing and Communications functional team. You will help shape how millions of people hear about DuckDuckGo, lead projects and own key ongoing work, acting as the directly responsible person from scoping through postmortem.

Key responsibilities

• Write social media copy and manage social media mentions and communities
• Coordinate proactive announcements and manage incoming press requests
• Report regularly on key performance metrics and work on related projects
• Collaborate closely with product, design, legal, support and leadership
• Example projects: announcing products and features across press, social and community channels; running a multi-week social campaign from baseline measurement and content planning through weekly reporting and recommendations

Required profile

• 6+ years in communications, including PR and social media, ideally in tech
• Excellent writing skills, able to explain products clearly without jargon
• Hands-on social media experience, including content development and community management on X, Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads and Bluesky
• Media relations experience, including pitching journalists, handling inquiries and building press relationships
• Experience measuring social media and earned media reach, engagement, sentiment and campaign impact, and turning results into reports
• Fluency in online culture and judgment about when to join a conversation
• Ability to run multiple campaigns, content calendars and approval cycles at once, and to manage projects from kickoff through delivery
