Computer Vision Applications Engineer

About the role

This position is open to candidates with work authorization in Switzerland or the United States. At AVIAN we stop fires before they start using infrared camera systems and AI‑driven monitoring. With product‑market fit achieved, we are now scaling the technology behind our mission‑critical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new monitoring applications using computer vision and AI for infrared cameras.
• Visit client sites, collaborate with their teams, and build products to strict specifications.
• Transfer algorithms from the lab to deployment on edge devices, including model acceleration and pruning.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in computer vision, both classical and AI approaches.
• Experience taking algorithms from research to edge‑device deployment.
• Knowledge of model acceleration, pruning, and evaluation techniques.
• Ability to interface with customers and translate requirements into code.
• Hardware experience with various camera sensors across the electromagnetic spectrum.
• Mastery of English.
• Linux and embedded‑systems expertise, including real‑time deployment constraints.
