Construction Manager – Basel (Stein)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the execution of client‑owned projects in the Stein area near Basel, Switzerland. You will work closely with an EPCM partner and external contractors to ensure that construction activities meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate service providers, suppliers, and material flows across mechanical, electrical, and ductwork disciplines.
• Manage client‑owned works and align them with the EPCM company’s scope.
• Lead external planning teams and construction companies not covered by EPCM.
• Oversee site organization, construction facilities, and health‑and‑safety plans.
• Conduct technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers and procurement.
• Ensure equipment sizing, crate configuration, and site entry methods are approved before installation.
• Maintain and improve the Construction Management Plan and generate weekly progress reports.
• Perform quality checks on mechanical pipework, supports, cable trays, and ductwork against the approved 3‑D BIM model.
• Witness construction testing, close out test documentation, and manage punch‑list resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex construction projects in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.
• Strong knowledge of applicable regulations, building standards, and client‑specific procedures.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including EPCM partners, logistics, and external contractors.
• Commitment to a zero‑lost‑time‑incident safety culture.
