Consultant – Editorial Project Management

About the role

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is seeking a Consultant to lead editorial project management for its Digital Engagement Service. Working remotely, you will oversee the production of flagship reports and high‑priority publications from draft to final release, ensuring they meet WIPO’s open‑access, multilingual standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage up to 12 editorial projects per year, coordinating timelines, stakeholders and deliverables.
• Develop and share production schedules; set up project folders in SharePoint and the Digital Publishing Platform.
• Gather and edit author summaries, compile bibliographic metadata, and obtain necessary quotations following WIPO procurement rules.
• Commission copyeditors, proofreaders, layout vendors and graphic contributors, and oversee the review and approval of manuscripts, designs and final PDFs.
• Handle both traditional InDesign‑based workflows and XML‑based workflows that produce PDF and HTML outputs.
• Occasionally manage language‑adaptation workflows for selected titles.

Required profile

• Available during WIPO core hours (10 am – 4 pm) and able to work remotely.
• Proven experience in editorial or publishing project management, preferably with international or multilingual publications.
• Familiarity with procurement procedures and ability to coordinate multiple external vendors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
