Controller – Finance & Treasury for NEAR Foundation

About the role

The NEAR Foundation is seeking a versatile Controller to own and expand its finance function. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will manage both fiat and token financial operations while supporting the ecosystem’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full spectrum of finance matters for the NEAR Foundation and its subsidiaries.
• Oversee token distributions, invoice settlement, cash‑flow tracking, and treasury management.
• Lead strategic research, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and the Foundation Council.
• Handle employee and contractor compensation processes.
• Design, review, and improve business processes and procedures.
• Coordinate with external service providers and contribute to strategic projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• 5+ years of proven experience in a senior operational or financial role.
• Strong business judgment, analytical ability, and decision‑making skills.
• Deep knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and process orientation.
• Passion for the blockchain/crypto space and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets, Slides, and Docs.
• Expertise in spreadsheet‑based coding and complex financial modeling.
• Mastery of financial accounting principles and reporting tools.
