Credit Risk Specialist - Lombard Lending

About the role

BBVA in Switzerland is looking for a Credit Risk Specialist to provide independent credit risk expertise and end-to-end oversight of the Lombard lending portfolio, including loans, credit facilities and guarantees secured by assets held with the bank. The role assesses and structures credit proposals, sets collateral and lending parameters, monitors exposures and margin requirements, and ensures credit decisions align with the bank's risk appetite, policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and control credit operations
• Prepare and present credit proposals for higher-risk transactions to the credit committee
• Monitor Lombard lending positions, identify emerging risks and resolve issues promptly
• Prepare and submit risk reports to BBVA headquarters
• Advise and train Relationship Managers on Lombard credit operations and risk considerations
• Analyse financial products and assign, review and update their lending values
• Manage credit-related accounting and operational entries across Avaloq, SWIFT applications and other internal systems
• Coordinate with Relationship Managers and Legal to issue guarantees and standby letters of credit (SBLCs)

Required profile

• Degree in Business/Economics or equivalent; Master's degree or equivalent higher education in numerical/analytical fields
• At least 5 years of experience in risk control functions
• Deep knowledge of credit analysis methodologies, collateral management, margining frameworks, portfolio risk management and counterparty risk assessment
• Fluent in Spanish and English
