Customs Functional Analyst (ASYCUDA)

About the role

UNCTAD is recruiting a Customs Functional Analyst as a consultant to help map the ASYCUDAWorld and ASYCUDA new digital platform components to regional requirements. The work is home-based and runs from 5 January 2027 to 5 June 2027, within the ASYCUDA Programme activities in the CEECA region, under the supervision of the UNCTAD ASYCUDA Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide functional advice in testing and piloting new ASYCUDA components in the CEECA region, including components of the digital platform.
• Prepare user acceptance test scenario documents for key functions developed.
• Recommend ways to fine-tune functionalities of the risk management and other modules.
• Analyse inter-agency data exchange functionally.
• Analyse indicators of reporting and statistics functionally.
• Provide regular inputs to project status reports and updates.
• Deliver advanced functional training for governmental officials and brokers.

Required profile

• A first university degree (Bachelor's) in Customs, business administration, law, economics or a related field.
• At least 7 years of work experience in trade, investment or the customs sector.
• Experience in customs administration, a revenue authority, a trade support institution or an international organisation is an advantage.
• Fluent written and spoken Russian; knowledge of English is desirable.

Required skills

• Combination of IT and customs experience is a strong advantage.
