Cyber Security Consultant – Data Protection & Governance (4‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to join a high‑impact security transformation project in the banking sector. The consultant will focus on data protection, security governance, and the definition of unified security standards, working closely with architecture and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a concept for data‑centric protection and modern data security.
• Analyse existing system landscapes and assess technical feasibility.
• Define security target images, target states and practical guidelines for uniform encryption and data‑protection standards.
• Specify requirements for embedding security controls throughout the project lifecycle.
• Integrate the new standards into central security regulations and governance processes.
• Coordinate work packages with security, architecture and project teams and communicate results to diverse stakeholders.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in cybersecurity, data protection or security governance.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing security frameworks and standards.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure technical requirements and present them clearly.
• Experience in a banking or other regulated environment is a plus.
• Fluent German (C1) and proficient English (B2).
