Data Engineer – Talend & ETL

About the role

EFG International is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data Ops Services team in Geneva. The role focuses on designing, building and operating enterprise‑grade data integrations that support critical banking and analytical systems worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines (batch and near‑real‑time) using Qlik Talend and related integration components.
• Develop and operate ESB‑style integrations between core banking systems, data platforms and downstream applications, ensuring robustness, scalability and reusability.
• Take operational ownership of Talend, including change management, data‑quality monitoring, SLA tracking, SOPs and runbooks.
• Monitor critical data pipelines, perform incident analysis, identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Apply CI/CD practices to automate deployments and configuration changes.
• Implement observability controls to guarantee service continuity and data accuracy.
• Create and maintain documentation and operational procedures for owned data integrations.
• Collaborate with application owners, architects, business analysts and data consumers to design integration patterns and improve governance.

Required profile

• Skilled Data Engineer specialized in Talend and enterprise‑grade ETL/ESB integrations.
• Experience with microservices, API‑gateway management and Kafka.
