Data Operations Specialist – Investment Data

About the role

You will join a small, experienced team responsible for the investment data warehouse and daily data pipelines. The role focuses on ensuring high‑quality, consistent data for business users while continuously improving processes and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the investment data warehouse in a SQL Server environment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot daily pipelines in Azure Data Factory and related cloud solutions.
• Apply automated data‑quality frameworks, investigate discrepancies and resolve them.
• Perform data reconciliation, optimize queries, and address missing or inconsistent data.
• Collaborate with users to gather requirements and improve their data experience.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in data operations, BI support, or data‑warehouse administration.
• Hands‑on experience monitoring daily data loads, handling incidents, and coordinating with users.
• Domain knowledge of financial services and investment data structures such as securities, portfolios, and holdings.

Required skills

• Strong SQL skills for validation, query optimisation and performance tuning.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (pipeline monitoring, job restart, log analysis).
• Working knowledge of cloud data platforms like Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.
• Python scripting for automation; R is a plus.
• Familiarity with Power BI for semantic modelling and dashboard validation.
