Data Science & Process Modeling Intern

About the role

Join a multidisciplinary team at Johnson & Johnson working at the intersection of data science, process modeling, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. This 6‑month internship offers hands‑on experience with real industrial challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, preprocess, and analyze manufacturing process data from existing datasets.
• Apply exploratory data analysis and visualization techniques to uncover patterns and generate actionable insights.
• Support projects on distillation and solvent recovery process modeling.
• Apply and refine novel process models using tools such as Python, MATLAB, R, gPROMS, or Aspen Plus.
• Perform simulation and optimization studies to improve process performance.
• Present results and recommendations to scientific and engineering teams.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s program in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience with Python‑based data analytics.
• Motivated, entrepreneurial approach with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
