Data Scientist - Actuarial AI Solutions (80-100%)

About the role

Zurich's Group Actuarial Systems team is looking for a Data Scientist to design and prototype AI solutions that address real actuarial challenges, then work with IT to bring them to enterprise scale. The role sits at the intersection of data, business and innovation, growing as an AI subject matter expert alongside actuaries, business stakeholders and technology teams. It is a full-time position based in Zurich.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prototype AI/ML solutions that address key actuarial business challenges.
• Translate prototypes and business needs into clear technical requirements for IT delivery teams.
• Act as AI/ML subject matter expert, partnering with IT throughout the build lifecycle.
• Maintain and evolve prototypes, and support future enhancements of AI solutions during BAU.
• Collaborate with actuaries and business stakeholders to identify high-impact AI opportunities.

Required profile

• Solid experience in data science and machine learning, with strong prototyping skills.
• Proven ability to turn business problems into AI solutions and technical requirements.
• Experience collaborating with IT or engineering teams to bring solutions to production.
• Strong communication skills to bridge business and technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the insurance or actuarial domain is a strong plus.
