Data Scientist – Healthcare Data & Hospital Planning

About the role

Join a public administration competency centre that supports data‑driven decision making for the health department of the canton of Zurich. As a Data Scientist you will help evolve the hospital planning performance group (SPLG) system, working closely with medical experts and software developers.

Key responsibilities

• Create data analyses to support the development and optimisation of the SPLG system.
• Align medical logic and development requests with technical implementation in the grouper software.
• Perform data‑based testing and quality‑assurance analyses of system changes.
• Represent the SPLG grouper software development team in cross‑functional meetings.
• Take on additional data‑related tasks for the department as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience creating data analyses for system development.
• Ability to translate medical requirements into technical specifications.
• Expertise in data‑driven testing and quality assurance.
• Background in software development or a strong interest in it.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
