Data Scientist, Lab & Protein Data

About the role

Adaptyv is building an automated laboratory where AI agents design proteins and propose hypotheses, while human scientists run the physical experiments. As a Data Scientist you will create the data‑science layer that transforms raw, messy assay readouts into clean, reliable datasets for customers, AI models, and internal scientists.

Key responsibilities

• Define and codify what constitutes "good data" for each assay type, including signal ranges, control thresholds, and failure modes.
• Develop anomaly‑detection and quality‑control models to automatically flag drift, instrument variability, plate effects, and other artifacts.
• Collaborate with software and machine‑learning teams to design, review, and improve automated data pipelines that process instrument outputs.
• Link experimental results back to protein sequences, structures, and designs, ensuring wet‑lab data and computational models reinforce each other.

Required profile

• Hands‑on data‑science experience in a laboratory or biotech environment.
• Strong understanding of assay data, bioinformatics, and statistical quality control.
• Ability to work closely with lab scientists, software engineers, and external customers.
• Self‑starter attitude; the role is focused on building solutions rather than managing teams.
