Development Fund Internship – Migration Policy

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a motivated intern to support the IOM Development Fund within the Migration Policy Division. Based in Geneva, the intern will contribute to the Fund’s work of providing seed funding for innovative migration‑related projects in developing Member States.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, monitoring and reporting of Development Fund projects.
• Conduct literature reviews and data analysis on thematic areas such as counter‑trafficking, labour migration, climate‑related migration, and border management.
• Support the drafting of project proposals, policy briefs and communication materials.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to gather information and track project progress.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme or a recent graduate (within 12 months).
• Age between 20 and 36 years.
• Less than two years of relevant work experience.
• Strong interest in migration, development and international policy.

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Research and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
