Digital Editor – Early Career Graduate

About the role

CERN is looking for an Early Career Graduate to join the Media and Digital Communications section as a Digital Editor. You will work within the Stakeholder Relations (SR) sector, collaborating with the web, social media and press teams to improve CERN's online presence.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and redesign home.cern web pages, improve taxonomy, functionality and create new content.
• Update the Stakeholder Relations website and launch dedicated sites, such as the 2027 Open Days portal.
• Advise CERN content creators on best practices, styling and online guidelines.
• Produce web statistics reports, dashboards and analyses to guide content improvements.
• Participate in web team meetings, sprints and testing cycles.
• Support the social media team by editing content for clarity.
• Share resources and collaborate with other communication teams in the Media and Digital Communications section.

Required profile

• Maximum two years of professional experience since graduation in STEM or Social Sciences.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (no PhD, no prior CERN graduate contract).
• Strong interest in science and technology; STEM background advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent written English (C2 level); French is a plus.
• Organisational, planning and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work diplomatically in a large international team.

• WordPress web editing.
• Experience with content management systems.

• Fixed‑term contract of 24 months, extendable up to 36 months.
• Monthly stipend of 5,266–5,793 CHF (tax‑free).
