Director, Clinical Data Transparency, EHDS

About the role

The Director leads Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine's European Health Data Space (EHDS) programme, shaping strategy, governance and implementation across multiple functions. Reporting to the Head of Clinical Data Standards & Transparency, the role translates regulatory requirements into sustainable business capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the EHDS strategy, operating model and roadmap, aligning regulatory, business and technology priorities.
• Lead a cross‑functional programme spanning Global Development, Legal, Privacy, Regulatory Affairs, Technology and MedTech, managing dependencies and delivering integrated outcomes.
• Establish programme governance, decision rights, risk and issue management, and provide senior leadership with visibility of progress and resource needs.
• Direct resource and capacity planning, external vendor management and transition of capabilities to internal ownership.
• Drive change management, communication, training and adoption to embed EHDS capabilities into business‑as‑usual operations.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a scientific, technology, healthcare or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare or technology sectors, with proven leadership of large, complex, cross‑functional programmes.
• Strong knowledge of the EU regulatory environment, GDPR and EHDS data obligations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and negotiate in a global matrix organisation.

Required skills

• Program and portfolio management expertise, including integrated planning, risk and dependency management.
• Formal project/program management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe) – preferred.
• Working knowledge of EU data‑related regulations, EHDS, clinical trial transparency and data governance.
• Experience with technology enablement, data inventory/cataloguing and change‑management methodologies.
