Director / Head of Quality Control

About the role

The Director, Head of Quality Control leads the QC organization at Bristol Myers Squibb’s Boudry laboratory, overseeing raw material, API, in‑process, drug product, environmental monitoring, microbiology, stability and new product testing. This senior position shapes the laboratory’s strategy, ensures compliance with cGMP, and integrates the site into the global QC network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site QC organization, including sample management, analytical testing and microbiology.
• Set departmental objectives aligned with internal and global priorities and oversee budgeting, cost control and capital expenditures.
• Direct investigations of quality issues across raw materials, in‑process, stability and drug product samples, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure review and approval of laboratory data, investigations and QC standards in accordance with cGMP and good documentation practices.
• Coordinate with site stakeholders to support commercial manufacturing, product release and new product introductions.
• Foster a well‑trained, motivated staff through coaching, performance appraisals and compliance training.
• Partner with EHS to evaluate hazards, conduct risk analyses and promote a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical quality control.
• Advanced leadership skills with a proven ability to drive organizational change and continuous improvement.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• University degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy or related science; advanced degree preferred.
