Director, HR Business Partner – R&D

About the role
As Director, Human Resources Business Partner, R&D you will work at the heart of our Research & Development organization, partnering with senior leaders to build capabilities, evolve teams and navigate the fast‑moving biopharmaceutical environment. You will provide a people perspective to critical business decisions, anticipate talent needs and help create conditions for science and people to thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Shape workforce and capability plans aligned with evolving portfolio and organizational priorities.
- Lead organization‑design initiatives that improve accountability, collaboration and decision‑making.
- Identify critical talent, succession and retention risks and translate insights into action.
- Coach and advise leaders through growth, transformation, ambiguity and complex people decisions.
- Guide talent reviews, succession planning, performance management and leadership development.
- Support new operating models, restructurings and business transitions with change‑leadership expertise.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on critical appointments and candidate experience.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations and Legal to deliver integrated solutions.
Required profile
- Significant progressive HR experience, including extensive HR Business Partner work with senior leaders.
- Proven track record in organization design, workforce planning, talent management, succession, performance and change.
- Experience supporting R&D, scientific, clinical, regulatory or similarly complex professional populations.
- Strong executive presence and ability to constructively challenge organizational thinking.
- Ability to interpret data, recognize patterns and translate insights into clear recommendations.
- Experience operating across functions and geographies within a matrixed, regulated environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology or related field; advanced degree or HR qualification valued.
- Experience in biopharmaceuticals or life sciences is highly relevant.
