Driver – IFRC Delegation Support

About the role

The IFRC, the world's largest humanitarian organisation, is recruiting a Driver under the supervision of the Logistics and Administration Officer to support the IOI Delegation. The driver provides driving and administrative support, drives the Federation's vehicles according to instructions and facilitates transport so that the office runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Drive staff between home and the office, to meetings and other assignments, and provide airport transfers
• Assist the administration with housing searches, bill payments, errands and office equipment purchases
• Help the Protocol Officer with document delivery, visa processing and exemptions
• Collect letters and parcels from the post office and help receive shipments from the airport
• Assist the Fleet Manager with fuel, vehicle maintenance, registration, inspections and licence plates
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, spot defects and ensure punctual maintenance
• Drive administrative staff for home and hotel inspections and incident management
• Follow traffic rules, obey passenger instructions, avoid potholes and report incidents immediately
• Keep the vehicle logbook up to date and perform daily checks (oil, coolant, battery, fuel, equipment and documents) and weekly checks (lights, tyres, interior and exterior)

Required profile

• Lower secondary school diploma
• Valid driver's licence (Category B for light vehicles, C or D for heavy vehicles and passenger transport)
• At least 4 years of experience in a similar position
• Experience with international organisations, NGOs or embassies is strongly desired
• Fluency in spoken and written French; English preferred
• Good understanding of Red Cross/Red Crescent activities

• Advanced computer skills
• Defensive driving or vehicle maintenance training preferred
• Mechanical knowledge, first aid or safety training is an advantage
